LonWorks
LonWorks Technology
Products for a wide range of applications such as, building automation, street light management energy management, industrial control, environmental control, etc use LonWorks® technology, the most widely adopted standard for automating every devices and systems, to save energy and lower operating costs.
LonWorks systems are commonly used to create intelligent energy-saving applications. This involves taking a common networking standard and embedding it in a wide variety of products and deployed subsystems. It is possible to create intelligent, energy-efficient buildings simply by logically linking products from different vendors together in one control network. This alone results in a reduction of the cost of deploying and maintaining systems while also lowering energy costs.
The LonWorks system is open and interoperable. This allows for a multi-vendor system meaning that every component can be competitively bid, which reduces its life cycle cost.
The LonWorks technology was adopted by many standards bodies, for example, ANSI 709, EN14908, GB/z 20177 (China), IEEE1470, AAR, SEMI, IFSF, which means its use is well known in industry and not subject to changes and obsolescence as seen with proprietary systems. Today LonWorks is also an ISO/IEC 14908 for control communications and powerline signalling.
LonMark International (LMI) is a global membership organization created to promote and advance the business of efficient and effective integration of open, multi-vendor control systems utilizing ISO/IEC 14908-1 and related standards.
AMDL facilitates the promotion of technology by partnering with companies developing products and solutions on LonWorks
